Learning Activity 2-5 Useful Browser Extensions: Overview
This learning activity is a selected collection of links to brower extensions that will be useful for reference librarians with some basic instructions for downloading and installing them. The Open WorldCat browser extension is among the most useful. There are other browser extensions but these four have immediate usefulness. Not all browser extensions will work with all browsers. The central sites for Firefox and Internet Explorer are also listed. Take some time and explore what other browser extensions are available and choose those that will be immediately useful for your work. Browser extension is the umbrella term for a variety of add-on, search engine toolbars, applets, and other software that adds functionality to Web browsers.
